March Ministry Update!

A group of girls from my core and I got to attend A Night of Black Church, an event put on by a sub-organization of FOCUS. It was a beautiful event, and I’m so thankful for a ministry that values diversity in the Kingdom!

Happy March! This month has been busy! Our Collin campuses had Spring Break- students got to spend time with friends and family, and some even got to take some trips. The extra days of free time allowed me to spend some time with dear friends catching up and sharing our lives. I was reminded of Proverbs 27:9 “Perfume and incense bring joy to the heart,     and the pleasantness of a friend     springs from their heartfelt advice.” It was a refreshing and restful week!

During IMPACT Week, we had lots of different outreach activities, like this one “Free Shoe Cleaning and free bagels and coffee”

Later in March we had IMPACT Week- a week where students from Bellevue College in Washington came to spend their Spring Break doing outreach on our Collin campuses. These students were amazing- they chose to spend their spring break, a time usually spent being lazy and doing whatever you want, coming to a different state to meet students on our campuses. We did different outreach events like “Free coffee and bagels”, “Ethnic eats and beats”, and “free shoe cleaning” based off of John 13. The outreach events pushed our students out of their comfort zones to serve the students on campus. It is also Ramadan for Muslim students. It has been an interesting month for outreach, having conversations with Muslim students who are fasting. My prayer is that God would use the Christians on campus to outreach to Muslim students, and that God would reveal himself in a powerful way to these students.

Pray that students would spend time at a local church celebrating our Lord’s sacrifice. Pray for the students who came during IMPACT week as they go back to Washington and their campus. Pray that God would continue to grow and change them and that the fire that was lit during this week of outreach would continue to burn. Pray for seeds planted during IMPACT week, that God would grow them in his timing.
