Hi friends!
May is over which means that the apprenticeship is over! It really feels surreal that these 10 months have passed by. May has been a packed month! The apprentices finished our Elmer Gantry class- if you haven’t read the book Elmer Gantry by Sinclair Lewis, I highly recommend doing so! It was such a good class over what it means to have integrity as a pastor.
We also took our students to a conference called SICM (student institute of campus ministry). SICM is put on every year by CCF, a Chi Alpha ministry out of Western Washington University, and is a great opportunity for our students to learn more about what it means to love people and share the good news about Jesus on their campuses. Washington was so beautiful! The weather was amazing and we got to stay with host families who opened their homes and lives up to our students from Texas. Our students learned so much in a short week and returned back to their campuses fired up to reach students for Jesus.
Our staff also got to have a Q&A with Brady Bobbink, the former lead Pastor for CCF’s ministry and ask questions about longevity in ministry. It was so encouraging to hear from a pastor who had been working with college students for several decades and really reminded me that what God is doing on college campuses is important work!
