Arianna’s May Ministry Update!

All our students and staff at SICM: Student Institute of Campus Ministry in Bellingham, Washington. We took over 150 students to SICM.

Hi friends! May is over which means that the apprenticeship is over! It really feels surreal that these 10 months have passed by. May has been a packed month! The apprentices finished our Elmer Gantry class- if you haven’t read the book  Elmer Gantry by Sinclair Lewis, I highly recommend doing so! It was such a good class over what it means to have integrity as a pastor. We also took our students to a conference called SICM (student institute of campus ministry). SICM is put on every year by CCF, a Chi Alpha ministry out of Western Washington University, and is a great opportunity for our students to learn more about what it means to love people and share the good news about Jesus on their campuses. Washington was so beautiful! The weather was amazing and we got to stay with host families who opened their homes and lives up to our students from Texas. Our students learned so much in a short week and returned back to their campuses fired up to reach students for Jesus. Our staff also got to have a Q&A with Brady Bobbink, the former lead Pastor for CCF’s ministry and ask questions about longevity in ministry. It was so encouraging to hear from a pastor who had been working with college students for several decades and really reminded me that what God is doing on college campuses is important work!

The apprentices also has our end of year sermons! It was so encouraging to hear from all the other apprentices and get the chance to reflect on how God has moved this year!

As many of you know, I am staying on staff with FOCUS for another year, and I am moving from Collin to UT Dallas. With that, I am fundraising for the 2024-2025 school year. I included a little graphic with an update on how fundraising is going, and I’m so thankful for your continued prayers and support! This year has been such a blessing to me in so many ways, and I’m excited to continue working with FOCUS. Happy summer and talk to you all soon! Arianna
