November 2023 Ministry Update

November Ministry Update!

My friend, Megan, is getting married next month! I met these girls when I was a student at UNT through FOCUS, and now we are going to be in a wedding together. These are the kinds of friendships that I prayed for as a teenager, and God provided through FOCUS.

Happy November!

It really feels like the last few months have flown by! I love November- the month of Thanksgiving and cooler weather (finally!). Only a few months into the apprenticeship, and I really feel like I am learning SO much. One of the classes that we are taking with the apprenticeship is a Spiritual Leadership class. In this class we read a book called Vulnerable Pastor. This book has been really eye opening to me in what it means to lead humbly- to be open and vulnerable with God means to be open and humble with those you are leading.

It’s not the best picture, but we had the privilege of hearing Dr. Iain Provan speak at our Pizza Theology conference.

This month we also had Pizza Theology- a once a semester lecture given on different theological topics. Dr. Provan is an Old Testament scholar who spoke on his book “Cuckoos in our Nest”, which addresses the pressing question in our generation “what does it mean to be human?”. College students are being inundated with information on all fronts- about whatever they are studying, about what they should base their morals on, and so much more. Pizza Theology is a great opportunity for our students to have an opportunity to learn about scripture at a college level. I’m praying that these opportunities will help foster a life-long love of learning more about God in our students.

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I’m beyond grateful for each of you!

Thank you for reading!

Arianna

Prayer Requests:

  • Pray that God would continue to renew the minds of everyone involved in our ministry- especially in a world so saturated in ideas and philosophies contrary to God.

  • Pray for our students as they enter finals season- that God would give them opportunities to be a light to their classmates and give them strength to finish out the semester.
